Don’t bite off more than you can chew!

Wow! The second newsletter of 2022 and I’m late with it! And, I missed making the video last week, and this week will also be late. And, I WILL get them completed.

You see, I know the things I want to do.

Occasional Mistakes

 I know the way to incorporate powerful habits into my life. 

I’ve been doing this for years. And, I still fall into the mistakes occasionally. The difference is, I recognize what I’m doing. 

For instance, a few weeks ago I said I was going to start getting on Tik Tok every day again. 

Then, I decided to clarify and update my deliverables for my 1:1 mentoring program. Based on client feedback, I’ve extended the length of the program from six weeks to twelve weeks. That means I must be focused on product creation. 

Then I went to Montana for Christmas. I spent time with my son and his family. I hadn’t seen them in three years! It was so good for my soul.  I also got to experience really cold weather. 

 It was lovely.

And it diverted me from my business.

I thought my fourteen-year-old granddaughter would have TikTok tips for me. She doesn’t use it. She and her friends are on SnapChat. 

Oh dear. 

I have been violating one of the Five Biggest Mistakes to Avoid When Starting a New Habit. 

 

Too Big

I am “starting too big”. Trying to learn TikTok, add content to my mentoring program, and now playing with SnapChat is just too much. 

Plus, I want to make a weekly video for my #911VirtualChaplain Youtube page. (Humanizing the Headset is planning to post a link weekly. Yay!)

I’m not getting much done at all. 

And, what has happened is some of the activities I thought I had made into a habit are sliding. 

Now what? Is it helpless and hopeless? 

No. 

Paying Attention

I am now aware. Being aware is a power skill. 

I am dialing back and choosing more carefully. 

I know the process…
